Welcome to The ECE PIVOT™
Helping Early Childhood Leaders Move From Crisis Mode to Clarity in Action
You opened, built, or stepped into leadership with a vision.
A vision to create a quality childcare program.
A vision to serve children well.
A vision to build a strong team.
A vision to create a center where families feel confident, teachers feel supported, and excellence is visible every day.
But somewhere along the way, the weight became real.
Staff call-outs. Licensing pressure. Enrollment concerns. Parent communication. Team culture. Classroom consistency. Operational bottlenecks. The constant pressure of being the person everyone looks to for answers.
The ECE PIVOT™ was created to help you move from overwhelmed to equipped, from reaction to intention, and from crisis mode back to excellence.
We’re So Glad You’re Here
Whether you found us through a speaking event, a YouTube video, social media, or a colleague who said, “You need this,” you have come to the right place.
The ECE PIVOT™ is a space built specifically for early childhood owners, directors, assistant directors, and emerging leaders who are brilliant, dedicated, and ready for more.
More systems.
More support.
More structure.
More tools.
More clarity.
More excellence that can actually be sustained.
You were not meant to figure this out alone.
And starting today, you do not have to.
What is The ECE PIVOT™ ?
The ECE PIVOT™ is a leadership and operations development company created to help early childhood leaders move from crisis mode to clarity in action.
We help leaders look honestly at where their programs are stuck, identify the bottlenecks that are creating stress or inconsistency, and build practical systems that support excellence in the real, daily work of early childhood education.
This is not generic leadership content.
This is for the leader managing enrollment, staffing, licensing, compliance, family communication, teacher support, classroom quality, facilities, culture, and the responsibility of being the person everyone looks to for answers.
The ECE PIVOT™ gives leaders the tools, frameworks, coaching, and support to stop leading from survival and start building with intention.
When the Dream Starts to Feel Heavy
Many early childhood leaders entered this work with a dream.
A dream to open a center.
A dream to lead a school.
A dream to serve children and families.
A dream to build a team.
A dream to create something excellent.
But the dream can become heavy when the leader is constantly putting out fires.
When call-outs disrupt the day.
When licensing feels overwhelming.
When enrollment is not where it needs to be.
When staff need more support than you have capacity to give.
When families need communication and reassurance.
When classrooms need more consistency.
When the business has bottlenecks you cannot keep ignoring.
The ECE PIVOT™ helps leaders stop carrying the pressure alone and start building the structure, systems, and support needed to return to excellence.
.

How may we help You PIVOT?
If you are an early childhood owner, director, assistant director, or emerging leader, you already know the weight of this work.
You are not just managing classrooms.
You are leading people, supporting families, watching enrollment, preparing for licensing, building culture, solving staffing challenges, maintaining the environment, and trying to protect your own energy while everyone looks to you for answers.
The ECE PIVOT™ helps you move from crisis mode to clarity in action.
And the first step is the Back to Excellence Challenge.
The Back to Excellence Challenge
Your PIVOT from crisis mode to clarity in action.
The Back to Excellence Challenge is for the ECE leader who knows their program was meant to be more than a daily cycle of fires, fixes, and frustration.
This challenge helps you pause, assess where your program is operating in crisis mode, identify the bottlenecks that are keeping you stuck, and begin building a practical action plan toward excellence.
This is not about pretending the pressure is not there.
It is about learning how to lead through it with more clarity, structure, systems, and support.
In this challenge, you will begin building:
- A clearer leadership direction
- An enrollment and retention reset
- A staffing and onboarding strategy
- An environment and safety focus
- A practical action plan for the season you are in
- A sustainability commitment for the leader behind the program
This is your PIVOT if:
You are tired of reacting.
You feel like your program has bottlenecks you cannot keep ignoring.
You want to create a quality childcare business, center, team, and culture.
You need a clear plan.
You want practical tools, not just encouragement.
You are ready to stop carrying the pressure alone and start building toward excellence.
Your Dream Does Not Have to Stay Buried Under the Daily Pressure
You do not need another motivational moment.
You need a plan.
The Back to Excellence Challenge is your first step toward leading with clarity, structure, and sustainable excellence.
This is where leaders move from overwhelmed to equipped.
This is where programs move from reaction to intention.
This is where we come back to excellence.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
A Message from DeEtte M. Thomas
For more than 30 years, I have served in early childhood education as a teacher, director, coach, trainer, district leader, regional leader, and program builder.
I know what it feels like to carry enrollment, staffing, licensing, family communication, facilities, culture, compliance, classroom quality, and team morale, all at the same time.
I also know what it feels like to love this work deeply and still feel exhausted by the weight of it.
That is why I created The ECE PIVOT.
Early childhood leaders do not need more pressure. They need practical tools, clear systems, honest support, and a framework that helps them prepare before the pressure comes.
The ECE PIVOT exists to develop excellent leaders.
Because excellent leaders build excellent programs.
And excellent programs are where children thrive.
This is where we stop normalizing crisis mode.
This is where we build with intention.
This is where excellence leads and leaders transform.
I am honored to walk beside the leaders who are building what children, families, and teachers deserve.
Rooted in excellence,
DeEtte M. Thomas
